Food poverty charity FareShare takes a top spot in Third Sector’s Awards.
FareShare wins the Most Admired Charity Award, sharing a platform with other winners that include James Partridge, Joanna Lumley and St Giles Trust.
Receiving the award on behalf of FareShare, Tony Lowe, its chief executive, told the audience: "People always say they're shocked at winning an award - but we truly are shocked" and “incredibly honoured just to have been nominated against the other four great charities” that included RNIB and The Woodland Trust.
The four winners, chosen in a vote of sector chief executives, received their awards at a ceremony hosted by Barclays on the 30th floor of the bank's headquarters in Canary Wharf in London.
FareShare currently feed 29,000 vulnerable people a day with good quality food that would otherwise be destroyed. They hope to increase this to 60,000 per day within the next two years.
REalliance is delighted to have been able to support this goal by funding David Meller as an interim manager for FareShare. For more information on how you could access REalliance support to build capacity within your business please call 0117 9071727.
